National Standards

Middle School Mantras & Activities for teaching social skills meets the following National Standards for Grades 6 through 12.

The objective of this curriculum is to provide a tool for teachers and students to enhance their development academically, educationally, personally, and socially on a daily basis.

Academic/Educational Development

• The student acquires the attitudes, knowledge, aptitude and skills that contribute to effective learning in school and across the life span.
• The student completes school with the academic preparation essential to choose from a wide range of substantial options, including college.
• The student understands the relationship of academics to the world of work and to life at home and in the community.

Personal/Social Development

• The student acquires the attitudes, knowledge and interpersonal skill to help them understand and respect self and others.
• The student makes decisions, sets goals, and takes necessary action to achieve goals.
