Sample Goal Setting Lesson - Attainable GoalsAttainable Goals
Just for today I will recognize and appreciate only the goals that I am
capable of attaining. I will not compare myself with anyone else. I will not
compare myself with what others may or may not be able to do. I will focus
on myself and the goals that I am able to attain. I know that I may not be
able to read as well as others, but I will read to attain my goals. I know
that my behaviors may not be like others, but I will behave according to the
goals that I am able to attain. I know that I may not write as well as
others, but I will write the best that I can to attain my goals. l
know that I many not be able to think like others, but I will think thoughts
that will help me to attain my goals. I am me. I am not anyone else, nor do
I wish to be. I will use my time, talents, and skills to attain my goals to
the best of my ability. I will attain my goals today, and in doing so I know
that I will be preparing myself to attain my goals tomorrow. Just for today
I will recognize and appreciate only the goals that I am capable of
attaining.
Suggested Goal Setting Activities
- Define attainable goals.
- Outline goals you would like to obtain in all of your classes.
- Explain how practicing the attainable goals will influence your future in a positive way.
- Using a single thinking bubble, list goals you have attained thus
far.
- Invent and complete a graph showing goals you want to attain this
school year.
